Hawk Spotlight:Â Reagan Germano on the April 26th Softball Game
Reagan Germano, a player on the Roger Williams University softball team, has been playing softball competitively since she was about eight years old. Her long-term dedication to pursuing the sport reflects her deep passion for the game.
Germano believes that her teammates and family have played a significant role in keeping her committed. Her teammates motivate her to show up every day and give her best effort, while her family’s consistent support in attending as many games as possible pushes her to continue striving for success.
Balancing athletics and academics can be challenging, but Germano feels that being in season actually helps her manage her time more effectively. Her team prioritizes group studying and often goes to the library together, which creates a structured environment that supports academic success.
In terms of handling pressure before big games, Germano takes a strong mental approach by treating each game the same. She avoids overthinking high-pressure situations and instead reminds herself that every game is simply another opportunity to play, which helps her stay calm and focused.
As a senior, Germano would be especially thrilled to make the playoffs this year, as the selection process is becoming more competitive. She would be extremely happy and excited to extend her final season for as long as possible.
Germano encourages future student-athletes considering playing softball at Roger Williams to go through with it. It is important to be fully committed, as college athletics require more dedication than lower-level athletics. However, to Germano, the experience is rewarding, reaping lifelong friendships and lasting memories.
Come watch Reagan and the rest of the Hawks Softball team play on April 26th at noon!
