On Thursday, April 23, at HeartFest 2026, Dr. Lindsey Pike and her students hosted “IncludED Game Night.”

Dr. Pike is an assistant professor of special education in the education

department at Roger Williams University. She currently teaches a course called “Inclusive Methods” which aims to help “teacher candidates to learn practices for being inclusive for students with disabilities.”

The final project in the course was to create an educational game that is accessible to all students. Walking into the GHH Attrium, there were four groups, and four games, at the event as well as other games the group collected for everyone to play.

The game night was a great opportunity for “other students from the education department [to] come and support their classmates,” said Dr. Pike.  Overall, this event gave students in the education department an opportunity to showcase their work, feel support from their peers, and for the Roger Williams community to participate in something they may not have before. The atmosphere was very supportive and fun.

Dr. Pike felt that HEART Fest 2026 was a perfect place for her class to show off their final

projects and for the rest of the RWU community to participate in these games.
